About Us

Advanced Apparel Inc. started in 2000,  It was conceived with a big dream, a little knowledge, and a few open credit cards.  The first 18 months were spent after hours in a garage like many other businesses

Two years later, The first store front was opened in Sandy Utah.  Advanced Apparel continued to grow their skills and knowledge.  Their Client base expanded.  They started hiring a team who’s passion for the business was paralleled to theirs.  Their printing capabilities greatly increased by purchasing larger, professional equipment.

Over the years, they have earned the title of being one of the largest, reputable printers in the state. Their attention to detail, superior service, and their “can do attitude” are some of the reasons why their customers return year after year.   Their remarkable business growth is due primarily to “word of mouth advertising” and customer referrals.

2008 Advanced Apparel received certification from WBENC Women Business Enterprise National Council as a women owned business, thus opening the doors to major corporations around the country.

Starting in 2009 to present day, You may have heard Stacy The Shirt Lady on popular radio stations like 97.1 ZHT, 101.1 KBER, 101.9 The End 94.9 Alt, 96.3 X96. Stacy’s bubbly and witty personality quickly made her a regular on the shows where she talks about business, life experience and gets involved in silly games and heart felt community events.

One of the ways Stacy Johansen is teaching her two kids about life is by being an example of hard work, a can-do-attitude and well……dreaming!

Tenacious and not afraid to do whatever it took, Stacy has learned her business from the ground up!  La Cross, and little league took their place in the hectic schedule along with developing a customer base, mastering screen print and embroidery machines, trade shows, conferences and self- taught business skills.

By 2002 Advanced Apparel moved into a commercial space, kept building clientele, and adding employees.  Stacy proved to be a Maverick for unconventional business development.  She persuaded her way into morning radio shows with fun and relevant gifts – which also provided on air PR.  This led to Stacy being a regular on a few prominent local radio shows as a contributing personality “Stacy the Shirt Lady.”

Since 2007 Advanced Apparel has been ranked by Utah Business Magazine as one of the largest and best Woman owned businesses in the state.  Stacy has been featured in Utah Business magazine in 2012 and recently in 2017. https://utahbusiness.com/standing-crowd-innovating-networking-helped-grow-small-business/

Today’s Clients range from small business to corporate giants.  Advanced Apparel has a Minority Business Status through WBENC which helped her open doors to National corporations like Frito Lay, Roland and Panasonic.  From 2012-2014 Stacy was Utah’s State Chair for WBENC helping other woman owned business gain their minority business status and build strong relationships with other businesses and Fortune 500 companies.

Stacy’s success story is one of tenacity.  It is a story about overcoming personal and professional set-backs, and a story about looking towards a bright future for her company.  Stacy excels at relationships and she uses these skills to build a solid team, keep business coming in the door, and showing her kids that hard work pays off. Our shop, where all the magic happens today, is located in Salt Lake City, Utah
